To avoid unwanted door openings, Feig Electronic provides motion detectots with cross traffic suppression. In this way, the motion detector only causes the door to open when a vehicle or a person moves towards the door.

The distinction between a vehicle and a person is important in view of the door opening height. To accommodate a truck, the door must rise to a higher position than to pass a person. Thus, the motion detector informs the control system whether it has detected a truck or a person, and the controller opens the door either completely or only to a predefined intermediate height.

To reduce the door opening time as much as possible, Feig Electronic offers a wide range of door controller units with integrated frequency converter (FC). This FC ensures that the door opens and closes at high speed and that it decelerates sharply just before reaching the final position. This minimizes the door opening time and the overall material stress on the door system.

Than ultimate requirement to minimize energy losses is the support for desired closing cycle. This means that the technology should detect when a vehicle or a person has passed the door and when the door can be closed again. This may be implemented by means of light curtains in the door’s frame in conjunction with inductive loops in front of door. The door is closed when the light curtain and the detector do not detect anything. 

The loops in front of the door are necessary for "vehicles with a trailer", since the door might otherwise close if the vehicle is already in the hall, but the trailer is still in front of the door.
